Selected Photos 5.29.25

This first shot was a surprise. While I had a vision for the hand and the light, the skin, wedding ring, and life as a metaphor reflected in the extra curricular paint saturation (and always saw it in B&W when composing it) but I was so focused on my hand (no pun intended) that I NEVER paid attention to the shadow. Figured I'd just crop out the shadow and go for a texture close-up. Duh.

Then I spent more time looking at the frame...and realized the shadow MAKES the photograph. Dang. Sometimes we can't see what we need till the original moment is well passed.

Painting

I was introduced to photography through classes during high school. Fifty years later, capturing images still brings me pleasure. Growing up in the glory days of 400 ASA Tri-X Pan film and D-76 developer, I find my heart still bound in the black and white world. See: Haddyshack

This next shot was taken in the breezeway between Frank's Jewelers and The Cooperative (where my office is located). Geometric shapes have always fascinated me.

    Breezeway Tables and Chairs

Sometimes photographs happen without ever planning to take the shot. This next shot leapt out at me when getting ready for bed while on the road. Once I saw it, I couldn't sleep till I took it.

Nightstand

I do enjoy automotive and aviation related subjects as well. This automotive shot is from a larger series captured at the Packard Museum in Dayton, OH.

Headlight

We'll wrap this up with a shot from a series at the National Museum of WW 2 Aviation in Colorado Springs, CO.

Grumman TBF Avenger, WW 2 Torpedo Bomber

Thanks for checking in. Hoping to have more poetry up soon.
