A Six Pack and Pretzels

 Back Story

Greetings from the Old Codger himself. I'm sure you don't know it, but I've dabbled in poetry for 30 years or so and, over those years, very few of my poems ever rhymed. Lately, it's challenging for them NOT to rhyme.

Back in the day, we'd travel around Southern California to read our poetry at open mic events, take part (when invited) as featured readers, and generally build a portfolio of notoriety as "underground poets": the below the horizon, off the radar, outlaw poets of dark streets, alleys, and sketchy bars. Cal State University Long Beach's creative writing program was rather influential in catalyzing my heart around the concept of packing maximum power in the fewest number of words. I leaned to jab, jab, PUNCH in a verbal sense.

What follows is me reading one of my recently generated lyrical poems AND a version with my lyrics arranged with AI generated vocals and music.

I hope you enjoy being part of this crazy journey.

A Six Pack and Pretzels is about finding a way to adapt and/or survive in a world that looks very different from what it used to. Remember, all images and music are AI generated through Suno.com. My lyrics, my key strokes, my ideas...but AI product.

We'll see how this experiment goes.
